Psychiatry Registrar (Stage 1)

There will be 8 first year (stage 1) positions available. Trainees will enjoy working in a recovery-focused service which promotes collaborative care, engages families, carers and non-government organisations and prioritises registrar training and welfare.

First year rotations include six months at one of two adult inpatient wards at The Alfred, and six months at proximally-located community mental health clinics in St Kilda Road.

Teaching: The new “Foundational Elements in Psychiatry” programme provides weekly clinical educational sessions together with regular clinical interview skills tutorials which bolster junior trainees theoretical and practical clinical knowledge.
