Mrs Kay Currie
Kay trained as a psychologist and has qualifications in Public Health with a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology from Monash University.
She has extensive health experience in senior management and executive roles, patient advocacy, research, clinical effectiveness and evidence based practice.
Notable professional roles include Operations Director at the Monash Institute of Health Services Research and Senior Lecturer (Honorary) at Monash University as well as Chair of the Health Issues Centre from 1998 to 2002. Kay was also elected as a City of Sandringham Councillor in 1992.
Since her retirement, Kay has been both a patient and carer at Alfred Health, and would like to use this range of experiences to contribute to establishing closer relationships between the health service and the broader community as well as service planning.
Kay is a volunteer at Sandringham Hospital, has participated in a consumer panel discussion at the Alfred Health Top 100 with senior staff and is now a member of one of our key patient safety and quality committees as a consumer representative.
