Health Information Services
We provide the following services:
Medical records
- Scanning of patient medical record documents into the Cerner clinical system
- Providing historical paper medical records where required
- Management of policies relating to health information and medical records, eg. health and patient privacy, patient registration, records management and archiving, records access, and medical record documentation
- Release of information for GP requests, and other emergency and non-emergency hospital attendances, as per relevant legislation
- Provide subpoenaed medical records to court
Coding and casemix
- Clinical coding, with DRG assignment and WIES calculations, ensuring optimal funding for all inpatient activity
- Reporting of patient data to the Department of Health & Human Services (VAED)
- Reporting of cancers to the Victorian Cancer Registry
