For researchers & students

Brain cancer remains one of the greatest challenges for patients and the treating teams who look after them. The key to successful biobanking is collaboration between patients, families, treating clinicians and the scientists who perform research.

Collaborate with the ABTB team

Collaborate with us

The Alfred Brain Tumour Bio-databank (ABTB) team aims to work together collaboratively with any researchers locally, nationally and internationally so we can apply this resource to reveal the path to better outcomes for those affected by this disease.

We also are happy to discuss with researchers and students how the ABTB can provide value in the development of their own projects.

For researchers

If you would like to work with us in a collaborative research project, contact us.

For students

The Alfred Brain Tumour Bio-databank (ABTB) is a stored collection of biospecimens and linked data taken from consenting participants with a brain tumour. It is a tool which allows discovery and innovation into the origins, behaviours and drivers of this disease.

The ABTB can support a wide range of brain tumour research, including assisting students as part of their higher degree research studies.

We have a strong collaborative partnership with the Monash University Central Clinical School (CCS) focusing on 'laboratory bench to bedside' translational research. The School offers a career path into many areas of medical and clinical research.

Find out more about courses and research with CCS, including Honours, PhD, Master's and Graduate Certificates at:
