The Office of Ethics & Research Governance has multiple functions:

• Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, guidelines and codes of practice
• Facilitate ethical approval
• Facilitate site specific authorisation
• Oversee legal and insurance documentation
• Create policies and guidelines for responsible ethical review and research conduct
• Maintain the ethics and governance review software
• Monitor and audit research projects
• Perform induction, training and accreditation of HREC members and researchers
• Keep performance measurement and planning statistics
• Provide reports for internal and external bodies
